When life runs dry, grace still flows.
These past few weeks, I’ve felt like I’ve been running on fumes. Between trying to fix my car, caring for my elderly dog, working as a contract writer, staying on top of my health, and navigating a court situation with my child’s father—I’ve been stretched thin. Spiritually. Emotionally. Physically. Mentally.
Then, the other morning, I was half-asleep, trying to read a Bible plan after getting up early to take the dog out. I was tired, mind cloudy, heart heavy. I wanted to hear from God, but if I’m being honest—I didn’t feel anything. And then, so gently as I was falling asleep, God dropped this unexpected phrase into my spirit:
“Spiritual gas station.”
I shook my head and laughed because I knew it was Him. And it was exactly what I needed in that moment, because that’s when it hit me. I didn’t need to push harder.
I needed to pull over.
God’s Pit Stop: Grace, Not Performance
That phrase—spiritual gas station—became an invitation.
In my mind, I pictured God literally standing at a gas station, one hand on the pump, the other waving me in like,“Come on, I’ve been waiting. Let Me fill you up.”
He wasn’t rolling His eyes at how far I’d tried to push on empty. He wasn’t frustrated that I didn’t have it all together. He was just there: faithful, patient, and even funny about it. Because, in my mind, yes, we share the same sense of humor. That’s the kind of relationship I have with Him.
📖 “Don’t Worry About Tomorrow…”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
— Matthew 6:34
Lately, I’ve been living in the tension of needing to plan and not wanting to panic. But Jesus isn’t asking me to carry it all. He is fighting for me.
All He’s asking is that I take it one day at a time, one step at a time.
That I trust Him with just today and walk it out with worship instead of worry.
And just like a car needs more than gas—it needs maintenance, oil checks, tire rotations—God’s been inviting me to slow down and listen to my body too. To rest. To stretch. To breathe. To not ignore the warning lights in my spirit or the tension in my shoulders.
And lately, I’ve been learning to treat myself with more love. I’m reconnecting the dots between my mind, body, and soul—recognizing that caring for one affects all three. God is healing me holistically.
(And I’ll be sharing more about that journey in a new blog post soon.)
To the One Who’s Tired…
If you’re reading this and you feel behind (on your goals, on your faith, in life) … I’ve been there. I’m still there some days. But something is shifting for me: My mindset. My perception of what success even looks like.
This isn’t your failing. This is your humanity.
Success isn’t just the job, the car, the house, the hustle. It’s peace in my soul. It’s how I think and how I speak to myself when no one’s watching. It’s the way I show up for my body with love, the way I choose trust over fear,
and how I slow down enough to let God be God.
Friend, God is not asking you to pretend. He’s inviting you to pause.
To pull over. To rest in Him and be refilled. You don’t have to run on empty.
There’s grace at the gas station. And guess what? It’s got your name, make, model, and year on the pump. (Lol, God’s got all the details.)
Simple Pit Stop Prayers
“Lord, I’m running low. Fill me back up.”
“God, thank You that you never run out on me.”
“You take the wheel, Lord. I’m finally done fighting for control.”
Feel free to say them anytime you need a little spiritual refuel.
From my messy, beautiful life to yours—thanks for being here.
Until next time,
